http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1128581 Bug ID: 1128581 Summary: Wicked network service stopped resolving hostnames after 2019-02-09 update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: okellogg@users.sourceforge.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/500394/can-nslookup-but-not-ping-af... I had the same problem (i.e. nslookup/dig do resolve hostnames but ping, firefox, ... do not) on a wired connection. The answer given by Stuart Lacy at https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/500659 worked for me too,
I got this working by adding dns=dnsmasq under [main] in /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf.
implying that since I was running on a Wicked-service base network I first switched to the NetworkManager service. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
