Well, I was finally able to get my test system working again, without the
colord packages installed. Uninstalling the packages mentioned in Comment 13
allowed me to login, but I couldn't open anything, screen was lagging or not
working. I finally got the idea to delete my local .cache, .config, and .local
directories since this was only a test system. I then reinstalled everything I
had uninstalled trying to get it working again. All packages were reinstalled
except the colord packages, and the system still works. So the being able to
login to my main system without the colord packages installed with the kernel
4.18.5 is confirmed. It isn't understood, and there may still be some junk I
need to clean up in my home directory from it, but I decided to not try and see
which package above kills it, since they need each other.
