http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1103514 Bug ID: 1103514 Summary: Long boot time with USB External Hard Drive connected Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: mail@joseortega.eu QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 778679 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=778679&action=edit Message seen when booting I've been experiencing long boot times since I installed Tumbleweed a few weeks ago, after a lot of back and forth trying different suggestions on google and Discord I found that whenever my external hard drive is connected it adds 30 seconds to my boot time, the system is installed on an SSD so this is very noticeable. Looking at the messages when booting the system the message I get is: "A stop job is running for udev kernel device manager ( [] seg / 1min 30s)" This doesn't appear when the external hard drive is disconnected. This is always reproducible, since it has been years from the last time I installed any distribution I can't really say if this happened before. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
