Could you elaborate what is the problem? I don't kow what you expect by the "volume control on a keyboard" you mention: what you did and what happened.
And on XFCE, it's pretty much depending on the setup. Did you install and enable PulseAudio? If yes, did you install the corresponding xfce4 pulseaudio package?
This is an issue with the volume controls on a keyboard or on a laptop, the physical volume up and down or knobs. As for Pulseaudio, yes. The only way i can control the volume for various streams and devices is via PulseAudio Control. Using XFCe's pulseaudio volume plugin for the panel works but that isnt the issue with this bug. If there is one sound source (onboard audio) then the volume controls on a keyboard or laptop function as expected, boot up with more than one audio device then the volume keys do not function at all. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
