http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1093703 Bug ID: 1093703 Summary: New kernel line 4.12.x refuses to boot after upgrade from Leap 42.3 to 15 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Thomas.Herberg@t-systems.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 770591 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=770591&action=edit grub.cfg After an Upgrade from Leap 42.3 to Leap 15 the new Kernel versions are not able to boot the system. The old kernel (kernel-default-4.12.14-lp150.10.2.x86_64) which was still available after the upgrade works without a problem. Meanwhile I did several package updates and are now on kernel kernel-default-4.12.14-lp150.10.2.x86_64 for the new ones. None of the 4.12.X kernels I tried worked. The system is a test installation within a Virtual Box VM. It was installed with a previous Leap version and upgraded before to 42.3. The filesystem is btrfs. In failure case the boot stops after: Linux 4.12.14-lp150.11-default wird geladen … Initiale Ramdisk wird geladen … -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
