The problem is YaST complaining about something that is perfectly normal, even holding up the installation waiting for user input.
One possible solution: when YaST only supports chrony and chrony is not installed, YaST should not attempt to fiddle with any time server settings.
but it works in reverse order. User selects that he wants ntp synchronization in timezone screen (default in opensuse control file), so yast ensure that chrony is selected to do that configuration. And when user deselects chrony, then installer cannot reach its configuration. So decision if sync with ntp is done before user de-select chrony and use ntp instead. So if user want to use ntp, then he should in timezone screen go to Other settings and here disable ntp synchronization. So from our POV it works good for common user and experts have way how to avoid it. What can be improved from my POV, is that it should complain already in summary screen that package is missing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
