Upon further investigation, several tests with other distros and other
graphical environments I managed to narrow down source of error to KDE Oxygen5
widget style animations.
Crash occurs if and ONLY if KDE is using Oxygen5 window style (widget style)
and only if "Combo box transitions" animation is enabled. Disabling this
animation or changing widget style to Breeze mitigates crashes. It's really
reproducible - after checking box enabling this animation crash occurs almost
every time, after disabling this animation it never occurs.
Though I'm not entirely sure if other crashes that I experienced earlier were
also related to this particual animation settings but now when I think about it
the way it was crashing was kind of related to events which are causing some
animations in QtCreator which may somehow interfere with Oxygen animations.
I'm not sure if from this point it classifies as QtCreator bug or Oxygen widget
style bug.
I'll try to test for 2 more days and if disabling this particular animation
indeed will mitigate all crashes I think It's bug that should be forwarded to
KDE bugzilla rather than QtCreator one. I guess... At least from my point of
view widget styles by design shouldn't affect any application in any way.
