Hello Jean-Claude,
This is a configuration problem. MariaDB in openSUSE Leap 42.3 is configured
via /etc/my.cnf file and via all configuration files that are located in
/etc/my.cnf.d directory. From historical reasons, there is
/etc/my.cnf.d/error_log.cnf file that contains log-error configuration. As
files from /etc/my.cnf.d are loaded after /etc/my.cnf, your log-error location
is overridden. Please configure your log-error location within error_log.cnf
file.
Please note that this behaviour is changed in openSUSE Leap 15/Tumbleweed.
error_log.cnf is dropped and the log-error configuration is moved to the
default /etc/my.cnf.
I'm marking this report as INVALID. Feel free to reopen if you still have a
problem.
