(In reply to Terje J. Hanssen from comment #61)
On GNOME the patch shouldn't have any effect at all, as GNOME sets Xft.dpi to 96*scale, which overrides the monitor DPI (unless on multimonitor).
Ok, I did install VLC now on Leap15, so I don't know how it behaved before the patch.
Some more testing revealed that the fixed logical DPI is used on unscaled applications as well, which means that for instance YaST looks out of place now without Xft.dpi overrides...
As there's several pros and cons about this, I suggest a middle way and only submit the patch to TW for now.
I'll request a release notes entry for Leap 15.
I didn't mentione I also launched YaST on XPS13/Gnome and didn't notice something wrong. What I now discover, is that YaST not longer seem to switch to tiny fonts and icons in Gnome DE on xps13, when extending the Gnome Tweak scale as I reported in a separate bug https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1089886 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
