http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1090318 Bug ID: 1090318 Summary: mate panel update notification icon shows "Your system is up to date" but gpk-update-viewer shows updates already Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.0 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: sor.alexei@meowr.ru Reporter: okurz@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- ## Observation On the mate panel there is a little star icon which is the update notifier that should show available updates I assume. It only shows "Your system is up to date". Clicking on the icon shows one small dialog which also gives the number "0" for available updates. Clicking on "OK" it reveals updates available from the gpk-update-viewer. *But* after about 10 minutes the update notifier actually jumped to show available updates. .xsession-errors-:0 does not exist so I assume no errors there. journalctl shows only ``` Apr 20 08:08:25 linux-xojv softupd_applet[13610]: invalid cast from 'GtkEventBox' to 'GtkWindow' Apr 20 08:08:25 linux-xojv softupd_applet[13610]: gtk_window_set_transient_for: assertion 'parent == NULL || GTK_IS_WINDOW (parent)' failed Apr 20 08:08:25 linux-xojv softupd_applet[13610]: GtkDialog mapped without a transient parent. I think it makes sense if the update notifier looks for available updates on start. ## Further information The process of the update notifier seems to be /usr/lib/softupd_applet . The package seems to be "mate-applet-softupd-0.4.7-lp150.1.1.x86_64". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
