Shivasharan, could you remote the Wants dependency to systemd-udev-settle.service from systemd-udev-trigger.service and try the megaraid async load as outlined above?
Hi Thomas, Hannes, Sorry about the delay. This BZ somehow got missed from my list. I tried with "megaraid_sas.async_probe" added to kernel command line and that seems to have solved the issue. For existing releases, this could be a quick workaround for customers. There were few questions regarding making this change default in the driver. As of now there are no drivers in kernel enabling async probe by default. Are you aware of any known issues in this area due to which this is not enabled by default? Also, is async probe planned to be enabled by default for all modules in upstream kernel anytime soon? The current systemd timeout of 30seconds still seems pretty low. There could be large drive configurations where firmware could take more than 30seconds to come up during boot. Is there any chance to increase this timeout value in systemd code?
