Stefan, I really appreciate you suggesting a work-around so
promptly. As I noted in the bug, I'll let you know about how
things shape up.
With the work-around activated, I'm now seeing a new behavior.
Often when I move the mouse from one xterm to another, the
very first keystroke triggers what I would call "a momentary
brief shift right/left of all my windows". It is visually
disturbing. This is not the "invert xterm instead of bell"
but it is a 2-3cm shift over 10-100ms (hard to gauge but very
fast). It seems strongly correlated with moving the mouse from
one xterm to another (focus change) but perhaps not just in those
situations. I'm (of course :-) using good old fvwm2.
Just to be clear: this "glitch" is 100x better than a hang so I'm
certainly not complaining!
Just wondering if you know what may be causing this. I'm pretty
sure I didn't see it prior to uninstalling xf86-video-intel.
Wishing you a great weekend!
Ole
