However, observe the clarity of information provided in the man page: NAME xwd - dump an image of an X window SYNOPSIS xwd [-debug] [-help] [-nobdrs] [-out file] [-xy] [-frame] [-add value] [-root | -id id | -name name ] [-icmap] [-screen] [-silent] [-display display] DESCRIPTION Xwd is an X Window System window dumping utility. Xwd allows X users to store window images in a specially formatted dump file. This file can then be read by various other X utilities for redisplay, printing, edit- ing, formatting, archiving, image processing, etc. The target window is selected by clicking the pointer in the desired window. The keyboard bell is rung once at the beginning of the dump and twice when the dump is completed. NAME import - saves any visible window on an X server and outputs it as an image file. You can capture a single window, the entire screen, or any rectangular portion of the screen. SYNOPSIS import [options] output-file OVERVIEW The import program is a member of the ImageMagick(1) suite of tools. Use it to capture some or all of an X server screen and save the image to a file. For more information about the import command, point your browser to file:///usr/share/doc/pack- ages/ImageMagick/www/import.html or http://www.imagemagick.org/script/import.php. Please add description of the tool operation in import(1) man page. In particular the man page nowhere mentions that by default the window to capture is specified by clicking the desired window. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
