Yes it was an upgrade scenario via zypper dup from a clean fresh leap 42.2
I filed the bug because I noticed that dmesg didnt log any gpu or graphics
based hardware information at all for the boot process, in contrast to lot of
gpu related log lines in dmesg when I used that KOTD kernel
Also the whole graphics experience of the desktop was rather sluggish and low
performance.
With the KOTD it was a bit better and more responsive in the KDE session.
Maybe this is then not a mesa bug but a kernel or some modules or driver
bugreport? I am not very familiar with all these layers and software stacks and
who is charge of what exactly.
