Not so fast!
If you mean by 'rescue mode' that you booted the rescue system from the boot menu then this test proves nothing, as there the compat file did already exist.
This is only about starting a regular install.
Strange. Even so there was a difference in output between the two ISOs (one altered, one unaltered) I flashed. The unaltered ISO listed the nvme partitions doubly as I specified above, and the altered ISO listed only the correct IDs (e.g., nvme-INTEL_[...]) I cannot do an additional installation on this machine to check, however.
