Perhaps we can provide a -mstackrealign glibc build for steam users?
We can also figure out why GCC spills at all and/or add -mstackrealign (or -mincoming-stack-boundary=2) to a selected set of source files only (sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strspn-c.c and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strpbrk-c.c). Note with a plain ./configure of glibc head and GCC 7.1 I can't see the spills we see. So we must add some configury that confuses the compiler here?
objdump --disassemble ./string/strspn-c.os | grep '(r[sb]p' objdump --disassemble ./string/strspn-c.o | grep '(r[sb]p'
maybe somehow things improved in HEAD compared to 2.25 whcih is in factory? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
