http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1048382 Bug ID: 1048382 Summary: Worqueue lockup during Tumbleweed installation Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: ilevshin@novell.ru QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hello all, I'm trying to install TW on MSI GS40 6QE laptop but failing again and again: at the Hardware Detection stage system just stucking and I see a lot of messages like that: BUG: workqueue lockup - pool cpus=1 node=0 flags=0x0 nice=0 stuck for 38s! These message coming again and again and installation doesn't proceed further. Also I have a lot of ACPI Namespace warnings during installation start. I was trying with UEFI and LEGACY setup, also tried to do the same for the MSI GE62 6QC laptop - problem is the same, I just cannot install TW at all. In my understanding this problem related with Kernel. Please tell me which info I have to provide more, I have no idea how to catch the log or exact process which stucked. I was trying different releases of TW including the latest one (Snapshot20170710), no luck. Also I found that some other distros (like SLax) just falling into "kernel panic" and can't boot up. At the same time GParted Live with kernel 4.9 successfully started up and running. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
