http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1047262 Bug ID: 1047262 Summary: "not listed" Login screen for root user is not intuitive Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 42.2 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: qkzhu@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: ast@suse.com, behlert@suse.com, fcrozat@suse.com, gwang@suse.com, mawerner@suse.com, okurz@suse.com, sreeves@suse.com, xwang@suse.com, yfjiang@suse.com Depends on: 878951 Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 731197 --> http://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=731197&action=edit gdm screenshot in TW +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #878951 +++ To duplicate: Install openSUSE 42.3 Build0298 or Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Build20170702 and do not set up any user other than root. Reboot. The login screen is all black with just a faded "not listed" link in the middle of the screen. This is very non-intuitive ("I guess I'm supposed to click on the "not listed...???"). Not all servers are set up w/ non-root users so I think it would be good to make this screen a little more user-friendly. :) This issue was fixed on SLE(bsc#878951) but the patch was not submitted to upstream.
