--- Comment #2 from Brian Price
Well, it can also be firmware issue. Can you pass the exact sequence of commands you used to create the entry (and possibly verify it exists) including their output?
A firmware issue even though Leap installed fine and the upgrade went fine? I'm not in that situation anymore but I just went through my browser history to find the commands I tried. First, "efibootmgr" to list my entries and I saw that the only entries there were for my cd drive, USB ports, and ISO. So then, I used efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sda -p 1 -l \\EFI\\opensuse\\grubx64.efi -L opensuse No errors, I followed this command and then used the command "efibootmgr" to list entries, and now opensuse was on the list and in the first boot order. I rebooted, and still got the error: not a valid root device. So I use "Boot Linux System" from the ISO to boot up again and saw the entry was gone. Then I did the same thing but with just efibootmgr -c instead of that other long command. This left a entry titled "Linux" and I tried to boot, but still no luck. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
