OK, then I bet the change you pointed is harmless. It must be something else.
The more important question is how to reproduce the bug.
That may have to do with the specifics of my computer, and my configuration of kde (which is the biggest reason I waited for another user to report the problem.) Just in case the version of leap 42.2 that I "zypper dup"'ed for the last 3 or 4 openSUSE releases had a configuration update malfunction, I have installed a totally unmodified version of leap 42.2 in another partition and will use it to do the test (it exhibits the same problem, with only very basic configuration tweaking so I should be able to come up with something.) This laptop was the very first 8-way i7 laptop I saw in the stores, and was on sale so it may well have design issues. But it has been running flawlessly since 2011 and is really quite fast since I stuck the 2-terabyte SSD in it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
