http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1040238 Bug ID: 1040238 Summary: No localisation for LibreOffice if user changes their preferred language and l10n is not already installed. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: LibreOffice Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: moritzrakow@web.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- ## Overview In the following scenario/user story, a non-root user does not get their preferred language in LibreOffice: 1. Install with system language English. Create a user without admin privileges. 2. The user changes the desktop language to the one they prefer (in Gnome settings). 3. Open LibreOffice. ## Actual result LibreOffice opens in English because the locale that the user selected is not installed. A user without admin privileges cannot change this. ## Expected result LO opens in the locale that the user preferred, just like it works for most other apps. ## Build date and hardware Build 0246 on 64bit laptop, installed from USB/DVD iso. ## Additional information Not sure how to solve this in the general case. Other packages (e.g. Firefox, Inkscape, Eye of Gnome, Okular) have their translations in a single package (which is installed with the base package). The only preinstalled apps on Gnome for which a language change English -> German did not work were LibreOffice (l10n not installed) and Qt 4 Settings (no translations available). The localisation packages for LO are in the Productivity/Office/Suite package group, whereas most translation packages are in the System/Localization group. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
