Thank you very much for the helpful video!

I've installed Terminator on a KDE Tumbleweed on a Haswell machine. I was
unable to reproduce your specific artifacts, however I've found that Terminator
doesn't draw its transparent background right.

On the other hand, the XFCE terminal also has a transparent background option,
and that works perfectly fine with the KDE compositor.

I suspect that it's a problem with Terminator, or whatever it uses underneath.

Could you please try whether this still happens on a freshly booted system,
WITHOUT starting Terminator?
