Would it be an option to offer an alternate package, e.g., kernel-preempt, in
addition to kerndel-default, that would have CONFIG_PREEMPT=y, for those that
need/prefer preemption (over other performance enhancing features, as stated)?
I tend to prefer CONFIG_PREEMPT=y because I am running voice-over-ip services
that tend to work better when kernel preemption is enabled.
