--- Comment #7 from Wolfgang Rosenauer
At least this particular "problem" should be unrelated to "KDE5"... And I actually doubt that this is new either.
true
I cannot tell if LocalOnly was on purpose. At least I wouldn't know why. So contributions to the package are welcome and we can give it a try.
Well, it would be easy to remove that LocalOnly flag. It does seem to be there on purpose though. I suppose the question is, will Firefox/Thunderbird be able to actually save to a SMB share or will there be problems?
oh, indeed. I didn't fully understand what non-local means. I'm pretty sure that Firefox/Thunderbird has no smb client really so the file action needs to be local indeed.
Btw, if you actually *mount* the share, it should be treated as local anyway. So that may be a workaround for the reporter.
If you open the share in the file dialog, it won't be mounted. So non-KDE applications may not be able to access it. That's how KDE works since ages.
Ok, if we assume that Mozilla cannot save to SMB itself the behaviour looks fully correct while unexpected because not many non-KDE applications use the KDE file dialog. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
