Version 1.0.9 (2016-12-20) Security fixes: A flaw in the cryptographic authentication scheme in Borg allowed an attacker to spoof the manifest. See Pre-1.0.9 manifest spoofing vulnerability above for the steps you should take. CVE-2016-10099: Borg (aka BorgBackup) before 1.0.9 has a flaw in the cryptographic protocol used to authenticate the manifest (list of archives), potentially allowing an attacker to spoof the list of archives. borg check: When rebuilding the manifest (which should only be needed very rarely) duplicate archive names would be handled on a “first come first serve” basis, allowing an attacker to apparently replace archives. CVE-2016-10100: Borg (aka BorgBackup) before 1.0.9 has a flaw in the way duplicate archive names were processed during manifest recovery, potentially allowing an attacker to overwrite an archive. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
