LO is pulled in as a recommended package, you may install a smaller stack of
package using the --no-recommends option to zypper, e.g.:
sudo zypper in --no-recommends gnome-control-center
On my fresh text-server install, doing the above does not pull in LO. For a
full functioning stack with all recommended pkgs, gnome-control-center pulls in
nautilus, which pulls in the previewer sushi which uses LO to show previews of
.odt and other LO generated files. This is by design.
