http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1001541 Bug ID: 1001541 Summary: NetworkManager 1.4 always enables STP Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: bart@bartvanassche.be QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Since I upgraded my laptop to NetworkManager 1.4 I cannot use the LAN connection anymore. This is because NetworkManager enables STP on bridges even if STP has been set to false and because in the LAN I'm using the switches have been configured such that switch ports are disabled automatically if any STP packet is received. This worked fine with the previous version of NetworkManager. # rpm -q NetworkManager NetworkManager-1.4.0-1.1.x86_64 # grep stp /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/virbr0 stp=false # brctl show virbr0 bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces virbr0 8000.000000000000 yes -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
