i would highly appreciate a backport of the fix to leap42.1
Sorry, but this will be impossible I'm afraid. First, that bug report doesn't point to a fix, it just got closed with comment#192: "multiscreen management of plasmashell changed in 5.8, please reopen if the same problem happens in Plasma 5.8 or newer". So it would be rather difficult to find out what changes would be needed exactly, probably several fundamental changes in several places which may not even be backportable. And it likely requires Qt 5.6 as well, 42.1 only has 5.5.1. According to the comment, it should be fixed in Leap 42.2 though (to be released in November), which will ship with Plasma 5.8 and Qt 5.6. We will also offer Plasma 5.8 for Leap 42.1, via additional Repos. So you may add them and install the latest version from there. Currently it's only beta yet though.
