http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=999524 Bug ID: 999524 Summary: Funny bug in KDE / fifteenpuzzle widget Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: faza@faza.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- My 8 year old is testing OpenSuse Leap for you/us and finds funny things. No reason not to share them, especially since I and everyone else can learn inner workings of linux as a result, and improve it a little. I know I learn a lot when I have to fix it. To recreate: 1. Add Fifteen Puzzle widget to Plasma desktop 2. Select Fifteen Puzzle settings 3. Choose max. size 99 (really funny as this tries to make board 99*99 large) 4. Watch Plasma crash (black screen - only cursor visible/working) 5. Re-logging/restarting does not help - black screen plus misleading error messages about, for example kagregator and other things crashing). Diagnosis (partial): Widget probably calculates invalid sizes of objects to paint which causes the crash. To fix: 1. From text console or another user graphics session edit ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc to manually remove Fifteen Puzzle widget from it, making sure, of course that user and group are preserved. Questions: 1. Should widget trying to draw miniscule items be able to crash Plasma desktop? ;) 2. Shouldn't max setting like that be limited? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
