Indeed the "ask-password: ask for passphrases not only on the first console of
/dev/console" does only repeat the password prompt to all devices attached to
/dev/console as well wating for answer as well as eventually performing a
sulogin on all attached devices.
Logging on the all devices is done by plymouth if a serial console is found and
is not considered to be a bug. The same is for my own blogd now ported to
systemd based systems (https://github.com/blog/) as a drop in repalcement for
plympouthd.
I really like to know *why* boot messages are not welcome these days?
