This issue appeared with:
commit d4aa7ca6f8e554b8de218216fd7e61e4b2df8763:
sna: Disable secondary planes on taking over VT
light-lock does a VT switch to start another Xserver (with lightdm) to perform
the unlock operation after a resume. The issue occurs due to a certain order of
ungrabbing the server and VT switching: The ungrab operation causes the cursor
image to be re-enabled. This however happens before the VT switch. The cursor
image is enabled in the hardware during mode set - apparently too early ie.
before the planes got reenabled. In this case the cursor image doesn't become
visible.
So this is not really a light-lock issue.
The patch mentioned above disables the cursor plane but still need to find out
when it is reenabled to address this issue.
I'm not sure if I will still get to address this - if I won't be able to do so
today, it needs to wait.
However, since so far it seems to be only light-lock that's affected so
prioritizing down.
