I've use_lvmetad = 0 in lvm.conf

I've luks partition containing all my vg/lv
I'm interested in what kernel did you use.
The symptom you described no lv at boot time, was hitting me a lot when I was
using 4.6.0 kernel from kernel:stable most of the time udev didn't find my
volume to mount or use (I'm using by LABEL)
