Just doing some of the usual updates, I noticed:
Additional rpm output: /usr/bin/suse-update-mime-defaults: line 28: /var/cache/gio-2.0/gnome-mimeapps.list: No such file or directory /usr/bin/suse-update-mime-defaults: line 28: /var/cache/gio-2.0/xfce-mimeapps.list: No such file or directory /usr/bin/suse-update-mime-defaults: line 28: /var/cache/gio-2.0/lxde-mimeapps.list: No such file or directory
Indeed I had wiped /var/cache at one point before running that update, but 1) a cache is a cache, and it's absence should not result in such a message which looks like an error ("no such file or directory"), and
Indeed - the issue is that the script expects the directory structure to be in place and 'just be able to write to the files'
2) why is suse-update-mime-defaults even looking anywhere under /var/cache to begin with?
It doesn't 'look for stuff' - it tries to write to the files, but as you apparently deleted the directory structure in /var/cache too it fails to write to the files Should be simple enough to fix the script to create the directory for the case that users destroy the system first :) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
