http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=968631 Bug ID: 968631 Summary: [DM] Make user defined session selectable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: All OS: openSUSE 42.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: eich@suse.com Reporter: eich@suse.com QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com CC: werner@suse.com, xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- Most DMs nowdays provide a selection menu to chose the type of session to start. This menu is generated from .desktop files, the 'Exec' value is passed on to the Xession script (part of xdm). In this case a user defined $HOME/.xsession script is ignored. Possible solution: Add a .desktop file for a user specific $HOME/xession: [Desktop Entry] Name=User Xsession Type=Xsession Encoding=UTF-8 Exec=default Make sure that when 'default' as session type is passed Xsession, the presence of $HOME/.xsession is checked and it is executed when present. If this file doesn't exist, fall back to sys.xsession. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
