http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=968629 Bug ID: 968629 Summary: cron pam_systemd warning logged / abandoned scope units Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: patrick.schaaf@yalwa.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- On one of my VMs, after the recent systemd-210 update, and after about 3 days of uptime, the following message starts to appear in /var/log/warn: /usr/sbin/cron[27282]: pam_systemd(crond:session): Failed to create session: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) So far is was 271 messages in the last 10 hours. The VM runs a lot more cronjobs than that, so it does not happen for each and every cron run. Looking at the output of "systemctl" I see lots (102 right now) of abandoned scope units, both for user root and user wwwrun. I also see these on other VMs upgraded to systemd-210, but not that many. Two of these other VMs run practically the same workload and cronjobs and have about 50 such abandoned scopes. I don't see that on the few VMs where I needed to pin systemd-208. An excerpt of the systemctl output: session-c14464.scope loaded active abandoned Session c14464 of user root session-c15222.scope loaded active abandoned Session c15222 of user root session-c15334.scope loaded active abandoned Session c15334 of user wwwrun session-c15479.scope loaded active abandoned Session c15479 of user root session-c19127.scope loaded active abandoned Session c19127 of user wwwrun And "systemctl show" on one of them gives this: image1:~ # systemctl show session-c552.scope TimeoutStopUSec=1min 30s Result=success CPUAccounting=no CPUShares=1024 BlockIOAccounting=no BlockIOWeight=1000 MemoryAccounting=no MemoryLimit=18446744073709551615 DevicePolicy=auto KillMode=control-group KillSignal=15 SendSIGKILL=yes SendSIGHUP=no Id=session-c552.scope Names=session-c552.scope Description=session-c552.scope LoadState=not-found ActiveState=inactive SubState=dead InactiveExitTimestampMonotonic=0 ActiveEnterTimestampMonotonic=0 ActiveExitTimestampMonotonic=0 InactiveEnterTimestampMonotonic=0 CanStart=yes CanStop=yes CanReload=no CanIsolate=no StopWhenUnneeded=no RefuseManualStart=no RefuseManualStop=no AllowIsolate=no DefaultDependencies=yes OnFailureJobMode=replace IgnoreOnIsolate=yes IgnoreOnSnapshot=yes NeedDaemonReload=no JobTimeoutUSec=0 ConditionResult=no ConditionTimestampMonotonic=0 LoadError=org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.FileNotFound "No such file or directory" Transient=no -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
