http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=966058 Bug ID: 966058 Summary: Offline upgrade fails (2016-02-10) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Upgrade Problems Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: badshah400@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Offline updating failed while trying to upgrade my TW system to version 20160208 today. Here is the journalctl output that might be of help. The problem occurs at "Feb 10 15:17:00". Ominously before that, the logs indicate: ``` Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge kernel: BTRFS error (device sda1): could not find root 8 Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge audit[905]: SYSTEM_BOOT pid=905 uid=0 auid=4294967295 ses=4294967295 msg=' comm="systemd-update-utmp" exe="/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-update-utmp" hostname=? addr=? terminal=? res=success' Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge systemd[1]: Started Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown. Feb 10 15:17:00 gauge systemd[1]: Reached target System Initialization. ``` However, I also see this message during normal boot, and my system still boots and works fine, so I think it might be simply false flags. The failure to successfully carry out the offline upgrade is very real, however. As usual "zypper up" has no issues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
