http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=954746 Bug ID: 954746 Summary: Tumbleweed freezes (hardware reboot) if opening a second session Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: kde-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: stakanov@freenet.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- this is a quite brand new installation (two snapshot ago) with the most recent snapshot installed. I imported two preexisting user homes from 13.2. I created the corresponding user in tumbleweed via yast claiming ownership. Then I was working normally but I discovered that: When you log into user A no problem log out log into user B no problem log out etc. but, if you log into A or B and then tell: open a new session it will do so but: as soon as reaching the last stage charging the new user session, the whole machine freezes. But so badly that you cannot switch to any VT(1) or anything else. It just completely freezes and you need a hardware reset. You can work for hours without problem in one user and no problem. Open a second user session: you are done! I checked with memtest for two full runs if I have any problem but all is clear. If you want me to debug this you will have to guide me through because I do not know how to see what is going on, since when it freezes the whole system is blocked. The video driver is nouveau, graphics nvidia G210 and the hardware an elderly 939 Vsta from Ashrock (opensuse proven over years). uname -a Linux linux-5dx1 4.3.0-1-default #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Nov 2 15:35:09 UTC 2015 (7b374a4) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux repeatable: always -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
