--- Comment #12 from Felix Miata
There are some things you can try out: 1. run the card with the fbdev driver.
IIRC, fbdev does not support panning, common native widescreen modes, or modes higher than 1280x1024, besides its being creepy-crawly slow. I tried forcing fbdev via xorg.conf with 3.12.48 on 13.1. It doesn't crash, but it won't do better than 1024x768.
2. run your 13.1 system with the kernel from the 12.3 system and vice versa.
A-startx a 13.1/KDE3 session on host gx150 with 12.3's kernel-desktop-3.7.10-1.45 simply by editing root line in Grub stanza, then opening Konq, Kpdf, YaST2, Konsole and FC/L didn't crash or reboot, but no NIC was found or configured to enable using a web browser on the Internet. B-startx a 12.3/KDE3 session on host gx150 with home:/mkubecek:/evergreen-13.1's kernel-desktop-3.12.44 simply by editing root line in Grub stanza, then opening Konq, Gwenview, YaST2, Konsole and FC/L also didn't crash or reboot, and also no NIC was found or configured to enable using a web browser on the Internet. C-startx a 13.1/KDE3 session on host gx150 normally (3.12.44) currently turned the PC off before any X painting began. D-did routine 13.1 updates on host gx150 (previously done 13 Sept.), installed systemd-210 (see bug 931165), installed kernel-desktop-3.11.6-4.1 and kernel-desktop-3.12.48-2.1. With 3.11.6 the PC turned off as KDE3 desktop completed painting. With 3.12.48, it turned off as Konq3 was automatically restarting. What should I try next? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
