(In reply to Jens-U. Mozdzen from comment #0)
/etc/pam.d/xdm has pam_mount included ("session optional pam_mount.so"), unchanged from 12.1.
How did this line get into /etc/pam.d/xdm?
Sorry to have to say so, I'm not sure - probably by editing the file in OpenSUSE 12.1. This was reported against OpenSUSE 12.2 in 2012, we've been through tons of iterations since then.
When I install pam_mount on a current tumbleweed, I don't see any entry for pam_mount.so in any of the services.
We're happy users for pam_mount since then. Oh, and keep in mind I reported that with proper configuration pam_mount worked fine back then, too - I modified the report (see comment #2) to ask for not segfaulting on improper configuration, which makes it totally independent from *how* it got misconfigured: No piece of software should *segfault* on config errors, but report any potential problem.
Steps to Reproduce: 1. set up system to use pam_mount during xdm login
How did you do this? Is there any way to do this using YaST2? I'm not aware of any.
Probably we were using that universal configuration software called "vi" ;)
Adding the "auth optional pam_mount.so" line makes it work:
[..]
So a line for 'session' and one for 'auth' should be added to /etc/pam.d/xdm - like 'man 8 pam_mount' describes.
yes. The problem stemmed from user/admin error (misconfiguration) but resulted in a problem caused by the developer (segfault). If you cannot reproduce now, it's fine with me to close the ticket. I have no way of reproducing this after approx. 1000 days, I wouldn't think we even have a repos clone at hand and I see no justification to ask some admin to fetch any potentially available archive from 2012. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
