http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=953269 Bug ID: 953269 Summary: OVMF failed to boot from cd-rom Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Virtualization:Tools Assignee: virt-bugs@suse.de Reporter: glin@suse.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After updating to the latest OVMF, the virtual machine no longer booted the image from CD-ROM. It's because that OVMF switched the SATA/IDE controller driver to support Q35, and the driver stumped onto a bug in qemu which makes the first 2KB of the guest buffer be overwritten repeatedly, so the driver never got the correct buffer. Reference https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2015-09/msg04200.html There is already an upstream patch to fix the bug: aaeda4a3c9e4d1d25c65ce8ca98e2de06daf1eec ide: unify io_buffer_offset increments The patch works for me. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
