Tried to install latest Tumbleweed (DVD) snapshot 20150924.
Alas to no avail. Sometimes I ended up exactly at the point from my first
attachment (646303).
Sometimes I came a little further but I must see the first installation
screen yet!
Tried to install with boot options: "linuxrc.debug=1
linuxrc.log=/tumbleweed.log"
Two or three times I came far enough to get a log.
But there my knowledge failed me. I have no idea how to retrieve that log file!
Searching on the net did not en-light me (maby the wrong questions?)
But your remark about hardware problems made me think.
So I started to run the memory test: no problems memory according to test OK!
Opened op my pc to look for visible strange things: nothing caught my eye!
Then I thought: this box is running two operating systems for a long time (suse
13.2 (64bit) and Windows XP (32bit) without any problems so no hardware
problems!
Then I did a step back and downloaded the 64bit version Open-Suse 13.2 again.
Tried to install this and to my relief this went without any problem (aborted
the installation on the partition suggestion page)
If you can tell me how I can retrieve a log file from a temporary file-system
and put it e.g. on a usb-stick. I will try to install tumbleweed as long as it
takes to get a degug log-file.
