http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=943546 Bug ID: 943546 Summary: gnome-shell 3.10.4 with xinerama enable will limit all windows to 1024x741 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Bugzilla Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Emily.Deng@amd.com QA Contact: novbugzilla-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 645350 --> http://bugzilla.suse.com/attachment.cgi?id=645350&action=edit pic For SLED12, enabling Xinerama does not work at all. After enabling Xinerama with dual cards (one panel attached to each) and restarting, the actual GUI desktop shows up in one corner of the primary display only (see attached pic). The rest of the dual screen desktop is white and the mouse cursor can move throughout both screens. If moving any window across both displays, remnants of the window are left through the dual desktop (see pic). When enable xinerama, all the windows will be reconfigured to 1024x741 with using XConfigureWindow by gnome-shell 3.10.4 (whether with dual cards or one card, and whether with one screen or two screens), so when move the window out of the range 1024x741, it couldn’t report damage to Xserver properly. For example, when use one screen with xinerama, and the resolution is set to 1280x1024, I run glxgears with fullscreen , then it will create window with size 1280x1024, but then gnome-shell will reconfigure the window to be 1024x741.
