It seems that you're right. After some extra tests, on multiuser.target or IceWM the exports aren't mounted. But LXDE do mount them on startup. Now I don't know what is triggering the operation. Could it be GVFS?
It could be any indexing program or file manager..hard to tell without logs, there should be a message like "Got automount request for %s, triggered by %"PRIu32" .. where %s is replaced by the mount point and %PRIu32 by the process id of the program that triggered the automount..
In any case, this does not appear to be a systemd problem.
