http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=934809 Bug ID: 934809 Summary: Inconsistent behavior with YaST2 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 201505* Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: mikhail.v.gavrilov@gmail.com QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 637925 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=637925&action=edit Why YaST2 wanted install all of this? Situation: I want install google-chrome. If I run zypper in /home/mikhail/Downloads/google-chrome-unstable_current_i386.rpm System management is locked by the application with pid 6549 (/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base). Close this application before trying again. linux:~ # zypper in /home/mikhail/Downloads/google-chrome-unstable_current_i386.rpm Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... The following 20 NEW packages are going to be installed: at ed glibc-i18ndata google-chrome-unstable ibus-qt kdelibs3-default-style libjpeg62 libpng12-0 libqt4 libqt4-sql libqt4-sql-sqlite libqt4-x11 lsb m4 make make-lang qt3 site-config spax star The following 3 recommended packages were automatically selected: kdelibs3-default-style libqt4-sql-sqlite make-lang 20 new packages to install. Overall download size: 67.0 MiB. I see that I needed only 20 new packages with overall size 67 MiB. If I try do it with GUI (YaST2) I see terrible picture. If I clear understand YaST2 want install for me: zsh, vinagre, unrar, telnet, libreoffice-calc-extensions, inkscape, gnucash,dos2unix, AdobeICCProfiles, flash-player, etc and etc. Why why YaST2 do it? I expected that if I click on some rpm file in nautilus, system would install only this file. I think behavior of YaST2 must be same as zypper, only difference YaST is GUI for novice user, zypper is CLI for advanced user. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
