--- Comment #3 from Neil Brown ---
I've been exploring dracut and encryption....
The easiest way to "fix" this is:
echo 'kernel_cmdline="rd.retry=30"' > /etc/dracut.conf.d/01timeout.conf
The problem is that the systemd default timeout for devices is shorter than the
dracut retry time. The former is 90 seconds, the latter is 120 seconds.
The above command changes the later to 20 seconds (yes "20", not "30" - there
is a factor or 2/3 imposed).
Alternately the former could be increased, e.g. by adding
DefaultTimeoutStartSec=180
to the end of /etc/systemd/system.conf
After either of these changes you need to run "mkinitrd".
There should be a better way, and it should be automatic. Unfortunately I
don't know what that better was it yet. I'll ask around.
