Hmmm.
I look at what you have now and i look what I have, albeit I'm just using LVM and not RAID, but then your problem seemed to be a LVM one, and it seems to me that you've arrived at what I've got.
The real difference is that I'm on 13.1 not 13.2.
My big question is how come you got the original, and "incorrect", setup you did?
What you've worked though to, the enabled lvmetad and lvm2-lvmetad.socket, is the "correct" config. Why wasn't it (automagically) set up that way to start with?
Because the system didn't used to boot (starting with 13.1 iirc) without it. "Back then" I found this messy discussion https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=862076 then turned OFF use_lvmetad, setting it == 0, and the system worked again. I've heard nothing since then that changed that opinion or advice.
