--- Comment #7 from Dejan Muhamedagic
Okay, great :) I think I understand what the issue is, and I also think we agree in not really being overly fond of any of the ideas we have for solving it so far. It sounds like adding a crmsh configuration option is the least bad choice we've got at this point?
Probably. At least it seems to be the one least in the way :)
So, one thing is that hb_report now has a list of places where it looks for log files. Maybe this list should be configurable in some way? That seems like it might solve this problem at least.
hb_report assumes that log files are created by syslog and can only find such logs. Instead of implementing some heuristics, I just logged a unique line at the given facility and then look for it. Unfortunately, with the advent of syslogd, that doesn't always work, as the log messages get delayed :-/ If you think that you can improve matters in this area that'd be great.
Also yes, we need to add /var/log/pacemaker.log to the list by default..
Not only that. We'd also need to show it in crmsh history by default instead of those found through syslog. One of the side effects is that lines with severity>=notice are going to be duplicated, so merging pacemaker.log and syslog logs is not an option.
I also agree that having hb_report in two places is bad. The plan for moving it completely into crmsh looks good to me, but those kinds of changes are always hairy..
Yes. It's one of those things that one keeps postponing ;-)
I have the same problem with moving the hawk templates into a shared package between crmsh and hawk to unify the templates there. They will need to be upgraded together. but I guess it is inevitable too.
Yep, most probably. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
