Did some more testing in the meantime I can confirm that enabled NCQ is the key
factor on Opensuse 13.1. Even a (parallel) download of many files from the
internet was able to trigger the error on the SATA drive.
When disabling NCQ ("libata.force=noncq") no UDMA CRC error counted or "failed
command: WRITE FPDMA QUEUED" happened within two weeks.
On Opensuse 11.4 I tried again but was not able to reproduce with any test
case. And I also did have had the WD harddisk also approx. 6 months on 11.4
(evergreen) without any UDMS CRC error.
P.S: This bugreport is still in status "new" - any action necessary from my
side?
