http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=911585 Bug ID: 911585 Summary: changes to mmap()ed files on XFS do not update file's modification time Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Ulrich.Windl@rz.uni-regensburg.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- I have a home directory that is mounted as: /dev/mapper/system-home on /home type xfs (rw,relatime,attr2,inode64,noquota) When I run a perl script using a "tied hash" to update a "Berkeley DB (Hash, version 8, native byte-order)" file, file contents are changed, but the files modification time (as displayed with "ls -l") is still unchanged! On openSUSE 12.3 using ext4 the file's modification time was updated on changes as expected. So I think this is a bug in kernel 3.16.7-7-desktop. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
