If the network reacts somehow, it already indicates that the kernel lives. So,
it's unlikely a hard lockup, but the user-task is blocked heavily by some
reason.
It might be a kernel issue (e.g. some the filesystem got stalled by an Oops),
it might be just a bad luck by the bad behavior of memory hogging.
In anyway, we need the kernel logs. The information is definitely too little,
so impossible to analyze.
We can begin with looking at the kernel log. There might be some trace there.
And, we need the information (kernel log) mentioned in comment 1. This seems
totally ignored, so far.
Last but not least, if the information is more than 10 lines, don't paste to
Bugzilla. Attach the files to Bugzilla instead.
